Hi.

This  blog chronicles a mix of  my nowadays beauty crushes , soul + food nourishment with a little cheer and inspiration. But who knows? Like people and life, this blog could change .

Until then, it will just be This Is Farah Now.

One of my favourite places on earth to be is the beach. Although it was more fall type weather back then in Toronto ( today it is pretty balmy for October) I knew for my first shoot needed to be close to the place and sounds that keep me calm and collected.

When I styled this shoot in my head I envisioned a chunky knit, cozy sweater type cardigan with different textures and elements. When I walked into Winners expecting to go on a hunt, I was thrilled when I saw exactly what I had pictured in my mind hanging on the contemporary feature rack. It literally felt like I hit the jackpot.

I instantly fell in love with the almost black fur like texture nested in with the chunks of grey cable knit that draped oh so nicely down the back of my go to high waisted jeans. My only regret is  that I didn't pack a proper cami that could be enveloped by this cozy beauty ( amateur move on my part) . What I did have was a lace v-neckline style bralette and a safety pin. Voila! My open front cardi was now a full on sweater!

I generally don't wear heels on the beach, but anyone that knows me knows I love me some height. I will wear this look again with my flat knee-high boots for the days I just can do the heels.

My favourite wardrobe pieces are the ones that can easily be dialed up with some accessories or the right shoes or dialed down for a more casual feel.

Wardrobe mishaps, dodging the occasional pooch or people strolling on the beach and the pimple that surfaced on shoot day( which I could have retouched, but thought with so much altered perfection out there a little natural is just fine)- all that aside, it was a good day.

Thanks a bunch for popping in!
