squalane + antioxidant cleansing oil
why i tried it...
I change my cleansers regularly depending on the season and my skin. Cleansing oils have gained popularity in my skincare routine. A good cleansing oil removes impurities effectively, doubles as a great make up remover and lends to a healthy glow all without stripping your skin. The 100% plant derived Squalane ingredient intrigued me to test this cleanser.
my experience...
Before we dive in- just a little about Squalane. The plant based version of this ingredient is widely used in beauty for its soothing, moisturizing and non- comedogenic properties ( this means it will not clog your pores). Our bodies naturally produce Squalane and apparently in abundance in our twenties and not so much afterwards.
First, this product smells dreamy. I can’t get enough of its light scent which I think is lavender and rose. It removed all my makeup without difficulty. It has a light texture (compared to other cleansing oils I’ve used) but a really nice slip to it making application effortless. After cleansing, my face looked fresh and most importantly felt clean.
how i used it...
This isn’t complicated. A couple pumps onto dry skin add a little water to your fingertips and massage in and then rise off. I like to follow by adding some rosewater to cotton and doing a quick all over wipe afterwards. I do cleanse my skin both morning and night. I am not worried about stripping my skin in any way when using cleansing oils. Plus it feels ritualistic.
final thoughts...
If you have never used cleansing oil and want to try, this would be the one. It is ideal for all skin types (including oily). I have tried my fair share of cleansers and this one has my a five heart stamp of approval.
I also plan on exploring other Biossance products given how much I enjoyed this one.
P.S BIOSSANCE Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil is only available online at Sephora
